The Imagineers Project took place in the Camborne Pool and Redruth area during the summer of 2008: a celebration of Cornwall’s mining heritage with a view to Cornwall’s economic and cultural future.
I worked with Troon School creating props, costumes and installations inspired by the stories of Cousin Jacks; Cornish Miners who emigrated around the world. These pieces together with work made by Lanner School, lead by artist Clare Summerson, accompanied the final collaborative dance performance by both schools, as part of the Imagineers Trail on the Great Flat Lode at South Wheal Francis on 1st and 2nd July 2008. The resulting art works were also installed at Cornish Mines and Engines on 4th July as part of the Imagineers Celebration event.
See www.imagineers.org.uk for information about the project as a whole.
